Labor Day Tournament

Finished up the Labor Day Tournament. A few charters coming down this month, but we are looking for a break to go up to the mountains and to visit my new neice in San Diego! Weather wasn’t bad for the fifteen boats until the morning of the last day. All days were relatively cool and overcast. We stayed in close the first couple of days and scraped out a decent catch with a few small dorado. Missed a couple mystery bites on day two and two sailfish that were shortly on on day one. Day three we only found two sails, but we were able to get them and tie for second with a total of five. Only a couple tuna and dorado were caught over 18# for the weekend. Some good tuna with one to 175# on the other side, but the tuna boats are working them pretty hard. Some decent reports of fish coming in from farther out, but then boats were having off days too. We just stuck with a spread of eight naked ballyhoo and our teasers and waited for the bite. We caught one every day within fifteen minutes of 1:30. A few were nice big sailfish. The win gets us an invitation to a $400K tournament in Cabo. We’ll see what pans out with this new event.

Tight Lines,

Bryan
